What do you dress your littles in post swimming?

With the turn in weather it's back to leggings/joggers for my 1yo and 2.5yo. Went swimming today and it was so difficult getting them (and me) dressed when they were slightly damp. Summer was so easy only one/two items to put on (shorts/t-shirt or a dress) and away we went. Today was a battle! Is there anything warm but easy to just chuck on to make the post swim getting dressed fight easier? I've considered a fluffy onsie but actually would that also be really difficult to get on a damp sticky child?

Biden wide leg towelling joggers. No longer made but still decent one's available on eBay etc

Soak up the remaining dampness and just great post-swimming

Roughly dried then into thick zip up bear fleeces with hoods. Fluffy socks. Hat. Into their carseats.

Dressed back into clothes once home.

This after school swimming in the winter, straight into onesies.

I was going to say a onesie! Either that or hoodie and jogging bottoms. They just need to be the right material - slightly fluffy on the inside so they are a bit absorbent!

MsSquiz · 19/09/2023 21:06

Dd1 is 3.5 and she wears leggings and a sweatshirt, dd2 is 16 months so will be wearing a wonder suit (zip up onesie) with socks and a hat when needed

Justcallmebebes · 19/09/2023 21:08

Straight into onesies. Much more hassle in the winter

Pyjamas. Cosy and easy. We often did swimming lessons in the late afternoon so it made sense.

moleeye · 19/09/2023 21:13

Mine are into bodies and joggers

Used to be a one-sie but they moaned it as a faff!

Towelling dressing gown on, we don't even bother taking the costume off, in the car and straight home to shower.

hutrest · 19/09/2023 21:34

I just dress them in their normal clothes, she usually still wears leggings or thin joggers through the summer because I can't be bothered with putting suncream on legs. I just pat her dry with a towel and don't find it too hard to dress her. She usually does other activities after swimming so I like her to be in normal clothes rather than a onesie.

Thanks guys, some good suggestions here. Unfortunately I can't bundle straight into a car as they swim in different age slots and there is a gap so one is always going to be waiting around but definitely some options to look into. I might start by trying a onesie for my eldest as I already have one and look into some other things at the same time. Especially liking the look of the towelling trousers from Boden that @DogDaysAreOverr suggested.

Onesie and/or dryrobe.

SkankingWombat · 20/09/2023 09:44

Mine are a bit older now, but we've always done (and still do) onesie when it's colder, towelling swim dress when it's warmer. We've never had any issues with damp skin making it tricky except the pants they wear under the dresses. They go commando with the onesies. Both accessorised with Crocs!
