for daytime naps I put a blanket over my ds and at night he has a grobag. He just sleeps in his clothes for naps and gets his jammies on for bed. For dd I used to put a lightweight grobag on in for daytime naps (1tog) but I havent bothered for ds this time.

i do, but only because he gets his legs trapped in the bars of the cot otherwise!!

My son is almost 8 months. I find he gos down on his naps easier as he asscoiates gro-bag with sleep (I think)

I don't bother with grobag, figure cot and closed curtains is enough for the day.

I didn't used to bother with a grobag for daytime naps until a friend told me that her LO slept longer at lunchtime sleep if in grobag so now I put DD in grobag at lunchtime sleep and she does now often sleep longer than her usual 40 minutes (been 1.5 hours so far today which is unheard of!) but I don't bother for other two short daytime sleeps. If you don't have problems with her sleeps without it though, I wouldn't bother. If she's too cold, she'll wake up.

ALMummy · 04/03/2008 13:48

Yes. I have found that DD took much longer to get to sleep and then woke up earlier if I didnt. It has a really strong sleep association for her, which is not a bad thing I think. She never has problems settling if we stay away anywhere either because her bed is always with her.

claireybee · 04/03/2008 13:54

I use a blanket for daytime naps and grobag for night.

dizzydixies · 04/03/2008 13:56

no but mine has her nap in her pram to distinguich between night and day, knew a friend who did it though and it seemed to work for her

agree with porridgebrain, if she was too cold she wouldn't have gone over or would have woken up - pop a blanket over her if you're worried

Miaou · 04/03/2008 13:57

ds2 is 7 months, I put him in a grobag for naps as well as at night - agree, if he is cold he will wake before he is ready. A grobag won't impede them playing or sitting if they choose to.

GColdtimer · 04/03/2008 14:02

I always used to put dd in her grobag for her naps in the day because she associated it with sleep and would settle quickly. However, if you don't need this association then just pop a blanket over her.

ChasingSquirrels · 04/03/2008 14:04

yes, always have - more from habit.

milkgoddess · 04/03/2008 14:05

I have to put my ds (13 months) in a grobag for daytime naps otherwise he will take his trousers and then his nappy off! After finding one "surprise" in the cot i'm not giving him another chance!

yes always have done - grobag=sleep.....
