Swimming- is there a good solution for being in shallow pool?

My DTs have swimming lessons in a 75cm pool. I have to be in the pool with them, with baby DD.

Currently I kneel down so I am under more of the water so I don't get cold, but it's hell on my knees doing this for half an hour! It's too deep for me to sit, and if I stand up I'll get cold and it's harder to hold DD in the water.

Any suggestions or do I just resign myself to painful knees? Have tried doing a kind of crouch thing but that was also pretty uncomfortable!

A wetsuit? They look like all in one swimsuits. I also find that if I stop moving at all I get very cold so the trick is to keep moving.

Just on this one to suggest knee support bandages? I remember my dad used to wear a neoprene one when running- that's the same material, isn't it?

A noodle/woggle? I quite often use one in a shallower pool with my dt's too. So good that you've found lessons they can do and you can take your baby, my gym does free toddler lessons but it's one adult to one child so I can't do it.

Oh that's really frustrating about the lessons! How would I use the noodle, to kneel on do you mean?

I will investigate wetsuits and knee bandages. The glamour of being an older mum!

Do you have to be involved in the lesson or just be there in case of anything going wrong. If the latter can you stay mostly dry in the first place so you don't get cold? So you only get wet on your legs and stay standing. If your top half has stayed dry you wouldn't be too cold surely?

I just bought myself a long-sleeved rash top and shorts partly so I don't have to faff about with as much suncream in the summer but partly to keep warm in the sea for longer in the year. Lighter and easier to manage than a wetsuit.
