Cosleeping help

Hi all. LO is 14 weeks and we’ve been cosleeping for a couple of weeks now. I can’t feed side lying because I just can’t get him to latch properly so I just sit up and feed. Problem is then when I lay him down next to me (I feed to sleep) he is wakes up and whines so I lay next to him and attempt to get him to latch side lying which hurts me. No matter how conked out he is after I feed sitting up he instantly wakes up when placed on the bed. Sometimes I have to cuddle him to me and slowly slide down and onto the bed but he still wakes. How do you all manage cosleeping?

My DS was like this and he had Tongue tie.

You could try some breast conpressions but the thing I found most useful was giving him to his DF for the first part of the night so I could get some sleep.

I don't know if this book would help at all?

@SiouxsieSiouxStiletto his tongue tie has been divided. He has always been very clingy to me though. Even though we cosleep, each time he wakes in the middle of night he wakes crying despite me laying so close to him! And I feel like he always wants to be on my boob, he doesn’t want to just be cuddled by me. At this rate I think what’s the point he may as well be in his crib

Have you tried a dummy? You could slip it in to avoid having to feed him in the position you find uncomfortable.

It might be worth getting the TT looked at again, just to check they haven't missed another.

Other things to try are the breast compressions, mentioned above and swaddling.

I wouldn't let him go more than 2 hours in the day either without offering a feed.

@CasaMundi he won’t take a dummy. @SiouxsieSiouxStiletto what makes you think it may be another TT? He is rolling so I cannot swaddle. I will try the breast compressions and see if they help as well as feeding more often in the day.

Just that my DS was the sane and I think it was TT Wink

Feeding lying down gets easier when they get a bit bigger, I think. Putting your arm under his head may help whilst he's still so wee, but ideally you shouldn't fall asleep until he's asleep and you've moved your arm out from under him. I used to read on my phone to make sure I stayed awake.
