I posted about this on another thread and was advised to go to gp as LO was doing very hard stools and crying. Was prescribed lactulose which ive given but hes stil crying and seems to be in pain when passing stool
I think he may have a fissure as i did see some fresh blood on thr stool.

Nhs website says it heals by itself but were abyone given something for their little one apart from stool softeners if there was a fissure??

Poor thing, they are so painful. You just need to get the poo as softy as possible, so loads and loads of water, fruit, probes etc, plus movicol better than lactulose.

If you can tell when he's going to pop shed loads off Vaseline in and around can help l.

Is movicol mixed in water? I opted for lactulose and syringe is easiar to medicate him

The fissure should heal itself. If lactulose doesn't work the GP can give sodium picosulfate.
