17 weeks wanting to sleep upright?

Hi all, DS has always preferred to fall asleep in his swing, bouncer or pram (then I put him in his cot) but as of the last couple weeks he’s waking up about ten minutes after I take him up and lie him down.
Nothings changed, maybe I’ve just become clumsier taking him to bed?!
Has anyone had this, know if it’s a phase or have advice? I’m a ftm so wondering what on earth is going on!
He is lactose intolerant so on LF formula, the only issues with sleep so far have been before I found out and he was uncomfortable. No longer an issue, I may jinx myself but he’s slept quite well since! Up a couple times overnight for feeds but falls back asleep after a sip or two.

Also to add - if I try put him in his cot before he’s already asleep he gets really full of beans and wiggly.

It’s about this age they generally become too alert for transferring. Getting to 17 weeks like this is pretty good going to be honest. Their sleep phases change and they realise there has been a change in environment as they move between sleep cycles. In your case, movement to still. At around 4 months DC1 became the same. He used to fall asleep in arms before being put down and he couldn’t be transferred at all. It might pass and you might be able to go back to transferring but usually you need to work on them falling asleep in the desired location.
