I hope to use reusuable nappies as weather over here is great. But you cant buy them over here at all so will be buying them in bulk from internet which site is best that delivers abroad ie cheapest deal etc. How many nappies, wraps should i get? and should i get washable liners or throwaway ones? (bearing in mind would have to order throwaway liners on internet all the time maybe washable better? how many would i need?) Thanks for help!

are you in france? I am sure a while ago someone linked to a french nappy selling site. I am in Spain and I did buy from UK sites but everytime I have bought a large quantity (i.e more than a couple of nappies) I have had them sent to a UK address and brought out to me because the postage can be a real killer. In the UK I have bought from nappyzone, flame(bumfluff Nappies), makes a change but there are hundreds more sites to choose from.

Any seller will give you detailed advice on what you need and it will depend on how much money you want to spend, what your drying facilities are, whether ease or reliability is more important etc etc.

How old is your baby? That is also a determinant in how many you will need.

My nappacino lady said you need 21 nappies, based on a wash load every 3 days. My mum agrees - she says back in the days of terry toweeling squares you always had 2 dozen nappies.

Hello thanks for wonderful info.

Ill give you some details.
Im in Gran Canaria so yes somewhere slightly warmer!!
Baby is newborn (well not yet!! will be in 3 months time!)
I plan to wash every 2-3 days and dry outside on a rack average drying time here is an hour or less if its boiling.
Nappies need to be easy as dh not keen, will only accept if easy to put on, wash, change etc.

Think i prefer washable liners to disposable ones.

Would like to know how many nappies to get in which size (one size, size 1 ?)
How many liners to get?
How many wraps to get for an average week bearing in mind 2-3 days wash.

Thanks

Have looked at some websites and thinking of trying trial kits of motherease one size, tots bots size 1 and fuzzi bunz. What are these like? And cant understand if they need reusuable liners or disposable and if they need wraps or not.

Hi, you could try www.crianzanatural.com or www.instintomaternal.com they are spanish sites which may deliver to las canarias. But you will still get better choice from the uk.

I was a HUGE fan of the easy peasy bimbles size 0/1 until ds was about 3months. We had nippa and popper, dh loved the popper ones and he was hesitant at first but became a cloth convert very quickly! Our favourite wraps when ds was tiny were motherease rikki with the velcro. I've never been a big fan of the big billowy knicker look of the airflow wrap although loads of people liked them. And we used fleece liners, never liked the look or idea of paper liners. We got our newborn size ones second hand and they still have loads of life left, they are in them for such a short time that this can be a real saving. Dh didn't like the idea at first but I overruled him and when they arrived he saw that they were in near perfect condition and was fine about it.

I also had a small fuzzi bunz and although it was oh-so-cute I didn't find it contained newborn runny poo so well. After 3 or 4 months I moved onto pocket nappies (wonderoos and now bumgenius) which I love. I just find them so easy and straightforward to use especially once he started getting wriggly and mobile at nappy changes. You stuff the pocket with the insert when you take them off the line and then you put it on like a disposable, all in one piece. And in the summer they dry in no time.

What else? You'll need a wet nappy bag to put your dirty nappies in when you are out and about.

They are very easy to get the hang of, we used them from about day 3 and have not looked back..
