Really upset about the nursery

Hi everyone,
I don't know if I am overreacting or not but I am wondering what would you do in this situation.

My DD is 20 months old and started nursery 3 weeks ago. On the second week she came home with face scratched all over by some kid. Fine thing like this can happen.

Today she was beaten and scratched all over her face again with some bruises. Everybody was very apologetic but that's it. My always lively little girl was so down that I couldn't recognise her.

They also keep loosing her clothes and nobody cares and does anything about it.

What would you do? Complain at the nursery? Find a different nursery? Look for a childminder?

She is a very precious little girl and I want the best for her.

TIA

Do you actually work within the early years sector?

I wouldn't be happy at all. Something similar happened to my friends child (3 attacks) She not only took her child out but she called Ofsted to report negligence. They assessed the nursery which is still being monitored as it turns out there were a lot more areas of negligence.

We had a child who had a really bad bite on his ear from nursery and they wouldn't even admit that it had happened there.
We removed him and about 6 months later the nursery shut down! I think that they didn't have enough experienced staff or some other problem but I think you should trust your instincts.
On the other side of the coin I know a mother who was asked to remove their child because the child was very aggressive to another child who was thrown against a wall and it turned out when the child was older that they had a severe mental health problems and so it could be that the nursery has a child that they cannot handle and is not dealing with it properly.

Yes, and just looking through our county's current job bulletin we have a few for Early Years Practitioners, a couple for Nursery Nurses, one for a Nursery Assistant and... none for Early Years Educators.
I've literally only ever seen that used on college courses. Never in practice.
Nursery Nurse is certainly not insulting to anyone, how ridiculous Grin

I don’t label anything and I send DS into nursery in lovely clothes! They are always returned. He never comes home with injuries, either. I’d be apologetic if he did.

I just think some nurseries are a bit shit. Ours is great and I have so much respect and gratitude to the staff for looking after my little boy so well.

That should be apoplectic!!

I’ve had two kids in nursery and they have never come out with scratches and bruises all over their faces. The occasional grazed knee or bumpy to the head…. I’d not be happy with this op. Sorry 😞
