... with your children?
Mine are ages 3 and 6, boys.
Just interested to know how others spend the evening. Do you just chill, screens, tea bath etc?

Control the chaos until bedtime.

Mine are teens now but park after school was always a good way to decompress before heading home

After school activities every day for DD 5, it means she can hang out with mates and do something fun and I can pick her up an hour later. Then we do homework, play at home while cooking dinner, eat, play in garden if it's dry, bath and bed. Two days are out of school activities meaning dinner on the go, bringing toddler in tow and we get back home with not much time except for bath and bed. Don't do screens in the week.

Homework at 5?
What does she have to do?

I have a 5 year old and a 12 year old. Most of the week by the time I pick up my 5 year old we're both really tired so its just chilling out at home, him watching videos or on the switch for a bit before dinner and I'm either cooking dinner or catching up on mumsnet etc. while OH cooks dinner. After dinner I try and do a bit of reading with him or play a little (lego at the moment) but honestly not much, its not long until bedtime and I still have lots of work to do. Fridays I finish school early though so we go swimming. I've been thinking about signing him up for gymnastics one day a week but I dunno how we'll manage it.
My 12 year old gets my attention mostly after DS goes to bed, then we watch TV together and talk about her day. Before that she's mostly doing her homework, studying, reading, or on her phone.

Garden play, bike around block, walk in nearby woods. Whilst it’s hot in summer we often have dinner around 6pm, then head out 7-8pm to burn off some energy as it’s been too hot mid afternoon.
Ds likes baking or painting, play dough, drawing

2 and 7 year old they both seem to go crazy after school. I just try and get through until bed time.

My son is nearly 3 but goes to nursery. We always go for a long walk to the swings. Then some tv time, dinner, garden play during summer, bath and bed

Sometimes i’ll also arrange a playdate or take him to soft play.

Not much. DD9 has Brownies on a Tuesday (DS5 starting Beavers next year) and on Fridays we go to the library after school. Other than that we chill at home. As long as there's no homework, in which case we have a whinge about that before chilling at home!

Spellings, reading, sums. Reading daily and the others just once a week.
