We found bonjela helped a lot with our ds. Also nurofen was better than calpol.

Hang tight. It doesn't last too long thankfully (until the next tooth...!)

We're going through the same with our 9 month old, she's cut her first tooth and now a few seem to be coming at once.

Alternating calpol and nurofen but nurofen seems to be the most effective. Then the parsons teething gel which she seems to love, Nelson's teething granules which I'm not convinced about and then teething toys. I've been letting her chew on homemade yoghurt ice lollies which seems to be helping. Basically all of those on repeat. Nurofen definitely seems to be the winner though.

I'm gonna buy some nurofen tomorrow how are you alternating them? X

Hope it passes soon. Lots of cuddles and comfort. My
Mine found sling helpful for daytime naps when teething.
Cold cucumber or homemade lollies too. Xx

So basically make sure you follow the instructions on both calpol and nurofen I.e 4 hours apart and no more than 3/4 doses in 24 hours. I find as nurofen is the most effective that is the one I want her to have at bedtime so work my way back from there. So bedtime dose at 7pm then 3pm, 11am, 7am. Then calpol (only if needed) in between at 9am, 1pm, 5pm and you could do a dose whilst they are asleep at 9pm.

That is only only on a very bad day and chances are she wont need all the doses so I just play it by ear. Absolutely not doing it regularly.

Didn't realise you could alternate between the two until my GP friend told me. Please just check dosage for 6 month old though as I'm not sure it's the same. You will probably find nurofen is more effective for teething and you don't need to alternate.

I think the NHS website does advise on how to do this so definitely worth reading.

Calpol being paracetamol is great for fever, Nurofen being ibuprofen for pain. That's how I use them for myself too.
