Advice needed to get him to stay on potty a little longer

Have just started potty training DS1 and he has been very receptive - lets me know when he wants to wee etc. However, accidents are occuring because he wants to see the end result before he's actually finished the whole process, IFYSWIM. So, does anybody have any suggestions as to how I can get him to stay there a little longer? In all the practice sessions, he's quite happy to sit there for hours on end so I don't really understand what's going on. Don't want to give up as he's really receptive to the entire thing.

DS does something similar.....

Not raining him just yet, but he will regulalry sit on the potty and do a little bit, then go back 2 mins later for more and this goes on for about 20 mins...he just wants the big fuss we give him when he does one!

I wondered how we would address this when we start potty ttraining properly - which may be over xmas....

Chocolate buttons work wonders I find.

I must admit that sweeties of any sort are now entering the equation! Was going to use them as a reward initially but if it means he'll stay there a bit longer, I'll try anything!

ds tends to stand up as soon as he realises he has done something....anything......then has to go back to finish

he likes tipping in into the loo - trying to only let him do it if iit is a 'big wee' rather than a dribble

They really are worth a go and I found mine soon stopped expecting them so they don't become a complete habit.
