I have a 27month old and I'm starting a new part time position. He will nap in bed and i settle him down every afternoon for 2 hours everyday for his routine.
My work time ends in the afternoon and after I've picked him up he could nap for 45 minutes but then I've got to go get my daughter from school so he wll be disrupted.
What advice can anyone give me?
Should i make him nap late afternoon at 3.30 Or squeeze in a 45 minute nap. Iv read it is not advisable to drop nap and to encourage it. He does get tired and still needs that nap. What do i do.

So my daughter was two years in June

She sleeps roughly 8pm-7.30am at night but she doesn't have a long afternoon nap anymore as I don't try and get her to nap anymore she just falls asleep when out in the afternoon or not if we aren't out
She usually naps 2pm-2.30pm/45pm in the buggy after a good run around a park .
I wouldn't worry about it to much. I obviously don't know your toddler's sleep needs but I wouldn't be encouraging a long nap at 3.30pm at this age and would think if she still needs the nap he would probably doze off before that on the school run anyway?

At 27 months he's likely to start dropping his nap in the coming months anyway, so it's only the interim you have to worry about. Will he nap in the pram? You could go on a long walk to pick your daughter up and maybe he could get a good hour in? Otherwise just stick to the 45 mins and see what happens. I wouldn't nap at 3.30pm as he might not go to bed easily.

I would just do the 45 minute nap and see how he gets on, you might find it is enough for him with a slightly earlier bedtime. It won't be long before you need to cut the nap short anyway.
