Toddler hair and ice cream

So my DS (2 years old) had ice cream when we were away and some of it got stuck in his hair. Our hotel didn’t have a bath only shower which DS didn’t like so it didn’t come out. It’s been a week and I have done possibly everything that I can think of. I’ve used harsh shampoo/ oil to make the little blob of hair go away.

hair can’t be cut for religious reasons. Any tips please of what can be done?

Thanks 🙏🏻

Detangle spray little angels Asda and a good hairbrush or tangle teaser

I don't understand what you mean?

WunWun · 13/08/2023 20:19

Oh, a knot? I would slather it in conditioner and use a comb.

Ugh my toddler always seems to get ice cream in her hair. Maybe a detangling brush like a tangle teaser?

Drown the blob in baby oil before bed, then pick at it with a comb in the morning

A tangle teaser or a wide tooth comb is great I use them for my boys & my hair(I'm prone to matting for some reason) I use "knot on my watch" by aunt Jackie's from Amazon. I pop it on & start from the bottom of the knot, moving up gently, & it works well

Try to separate the mat gently by hand literally pull it apart (gently) it will make it easier to comb it through.

Thanks everyone. I’ll try these over the next few days.

Yeah I think you're going to have to give him a screen and sit and unpick it individually

Maaofatoddler · 14/08/2023 11:08

I’ve been unpicking it using shampoo/ oil for the last week or so. Using warmish water in the bath. But it’s so hard. He’s still only for a minute. Perseverance 😅

Conditioner and comb through in the shower. My dd has really curly hair and she hadn't been brushing it and it got all matted and that was the only thing that got all the knots out

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 14/08/2023 11:19

And adult conditioner not that 2 in 1 nonsense
