i don't have much time in the mornings, i usually give her crackers and cheese, sometimes cereal but lately she doesn't want it. i can't bear the thought of her not eating a thing until 1030am! need some advice/ideas!!

they eat yogurt at nursery every day.
sandwich could be good, i guess we just never have bread at home since i don't really like the bread in a bag thing.

can i make raisin pancakes and have them last for a few days?

She has gone off them MrsB

How about a banana, a tub of cheerios/rice crispies/cornflakes mixed with raisins, (dd likes these dry) a yoghurt, a slice of fruit loaf, a jam sandwich, urrm....(still thinking)

MrsBadger · 28/02/2008 16:26

well if it's what she eats at home wtf would it not be ok?

how old is she?
does everyone take breakfast?
or is it that you don't have time to feed her / she isn't hungry before you leave the house?
why not ask what's in the 'little boxes'?

(am baffled)

GColdtimer · 28/02/2008 16:26

You can (or you can buy them

I think most people give breakfast at home or the nursery gives them breakfast.

How do you give her cereal to take, will the nursery put milk on it or does she eat it without milk?

How about putting some buttered bread (no different to toast really and it doesn't go hard when it goes cold) and a banana in a box for her to take with her.

My ds likes hard boiled eggs and that would be OK to send (You can boil them the night before) - though your dd may not like that.

Occasionally you could put a cereal bar type thing in for her.

DS is always fed breakfast at home but he generally doesn't eat much but he tends to get hungry just as we are due to leave. If he does I let him eat his breakfast in the car (usually something like toast, banana, boiled egg etc)

she doesn't eat that at home. she used to take it to school but doesnt want to anymore.

she is 3.

most of the children bring breakfast, they are usually at school at 8am so no time to eat at home.

i would ask but i am always in a rush, dont have time to chat in the mornings, thats why i'm asking you here on mn!!

boiled egg could be a good idea. and i think i will start buying cereal bars, that could work.
i wish i could have something that is 'cooked' or 'baked' that i could send, but didnt have to prepare each morning.
we don't have a toaster.

i put cereal in tupperwear and i bring a carton of soy milk that they keep for her in the fridge. i dont always do that though because she doesnt want cereal often and the milk ends up getting spoiled.

Make a batch of muffins (banana is good), freeze them and take one out to defrost the night before. Also, frubes are good and can be frozen. They don't take long to defrost. I take one out at 0745 for DSs packed lunch, and it is defrosted by morning break.

When DS was a baby I used to make up oat cereal with milk in the microwave,(just hot enough to make the milk and oats do their thing) stir in fruit puree, and then it cooled on the way to nursery. The nursery girls would then reheat it, and feed it to him. Took about 2 minutes to do, and I still got to work on time.
