5 month old & crying

I have 5 month old twins, 3m corrected.

They've never really cried very often, I've been lucky, very rarely crying at the same time.

This last week or so, most of the time they are awake both are absolutely inconsolable screaming. They usually love their dummies but they don't work, nor does cuddles or rocking etc. It's so difficult to try and calm both at once.

They don't have temps although one of them has a slight cold. Nothing about our routine has changed, and they still nap well although it's now taking a long time to get them down as they'll wake up screaming after ten min.

They don't really cry overnight.

Any tips or ideas? It is bloody hard while my husbands at work trying to calm them both down alone when I don't really know what's wrong!

I have a 5 month old and she's definitely teething at the moment that coupled with a sleep regression has made her quite a moody girl. Are yours putting hands in their mouths alot? Dummy could bf irritating their gums. Hopefully won't last too long

They do chew their hands constantly but don't really chew anything else (toys or teethers), I thought they might be too young for teething with being 3m corrected age but maybe that is the problem!

DS cut his first tooth at 4 months. Have you considered using bonjela?

Sounds like teething to me, that's the only time we had that relentless upset/fussyness. It still always took me a few days to remember what it meant 😂 I'd explore all the teething options - powder, gel etc or just calpol/neurofen. Hope it improves.

I'll go and buy some teething stuff tomorrow and see if it helps, poor things!
