Hi everyone so annoyed right now and frustrated hopefully you guys can calm me down or tell me how to solve this situation

My two year old took the kitten litter tray and poured it out all over the living room floor and sofa where the kitten has been pooping and peeing 😖 i'm so annoyed right now

Worst thing is the hoover broke this morning and I don't even know what to do

Can you borrow a hoover?

Urgh toddlers are relentless. And fascinated with litter trays. Went to someone’s house (who doesn’t have small kids) for a party and turn round and a bunch of toddlers are sifting in the cat litter like they’re panning for gold.

Not much help cos I’d probably vacuum it up after I’d removed the bulk of it somehow. And that seems to be what everyone else wouldn’t do!

In future I recommend litter tray behind a stair gate somewhere. Cat will get past it easily, but child will not. Maybe bathroom? We put ours in a cupboard when kids were small and DH fitted a high up latch so it could open just enough for cat to squeeze in (our cat is small).

It'll be ok. Clean up best you can with dustpan and brush for now. Beg borrow or steal a vaccuum cleaner. Be religious about removing cat poo from the tray going forward. You can get lidded litter trays if you have nowhere better to put it.

Get the worst up and shampoo if there are poo stains then get the kettle on and have a brew. And a cuddle with toddler.

Do tell the vacuum cleaner owner that you’re intending to vacuum pissy shitty cat litter, so they’ll vacuum cleaner will smell forever more!

Don't use a hoover for dirty cat litter!

Grinchymother · 08/08/2023 19:09

I meant hoover after it's* *all been swept up. Not hoovering old wet litter!
