Hi ladies!! So my little one is 10 weeks old, she is currently sleeping beside me in the next2me crib & she is terrible for keeping her blanket on! She kicks it off no matter how much she is tucked in (she hates being swaddled btw)
I live in the UK and it’s august right now, the temp outside is between 15-17°c atm, but our room temp is always 21-23°c no matter how much we try lowering it! I’m in dire need for advice on grobags, I’m not sure which tog rating to get her as every single tog chart says differently!
Since she kicks off her blanket she normally sleeps in just a sleepsuit on it’s own, she never gets too hot or too cold!
So I’m indecisive on which tog I should get in a grobag, either 1 or 1.5, have any of you ladies had the same experience with room temp, if so how did you dress your lo with a grobag? Any advice would be a treat! Thanks😊

Hi Op

FTM here and I seem to spend my life worrying the room is too hot! Little one is 5 months old now.

Our room is 23-24 degrees generally at the moment at night. I have been going for sleeveless or short sleeved vest and either a 0.5 or 1.0 tog sleeping bag and it seems to be going ok. He wakes 3-4 times a night for feeding anyway since the 4 month regression, but temp wise seems to be ok on the above!

A bit older, but in similar temperatures over the summer my 8-11 month old has been in a 0.5 tog and just his nappy.

same as dans for grandchild

I have a 4 month old and she wears a short sleeved vest and a 0.5 tog bag which we got on amazon was £9.99. Our room is around 23 degrees at night at the moment.
Few months back to room was around 27/28 degrees so we took the bag off and she just wore the vest. If the temperature drops to around 20/21 we've been using the same bag with a long sleeved vest underneath

They are a bit ridiculously expensive but if you look for merino sleeping bags they generally have a really wide temp range from 17 to 27 degs so you have to think of it as the equivalent of a .5/1 tog and a 2.5 combined.

There's not a vast amount of difference between 1.0 and 1.5 tog tbh. By one or the other or both, but don't stress too much over it. Personally in summer I preferred using lighter grobags and if it's a cooler night then just add an extra layer with jammies or vests.

My son's room has been consistently 23 at night. I've been using either 1.0 or 1.5 tog (whichever isn't in the wash) with a pyjama top (no bottoms as he's a warm boy). A cooler baby may want more layers at that temp; there's really no "right" amount of clothing. My rule of thumb has been: every 2 degree increase in temp, make the bedclothes lighter.

We're using a 1.0 tog bag with the same temperatures

Always use lowest in summer you can add a vest if needed
