Does anyone know what this might be?

I was wondering if anyone would be able to advise me on what this might be, my little boy is nearly 6 weeks old, FF since birth and this last week i have noticed he has these little red spots around his chin and neck. His twin sister also has the same but not as much as him. They dont seem to bother him and he doesnt have them anywhere else, no temp and well within himself. Im a first time mum and panicking about absolutely everything.

Looks like a little bit of baby acne to me. My baby had it from around 2 weeks old to 8 weeks old.

Aw OP, welcome to parenthood - where everyday gives you something new to worry about.....

It just looks like a heat rash/sweat rash really but think about it this way. Baby (or babies in your case) have just spent 9m in a perfect environment and have come out into the world where they're not being moisturised 24/7. Their skin can get dry/irritated easily. Cradle cap will likely show soon too - that's a joy!!

Enjoy those newborn squishes.x

Sweat rash or a reaction to a wipe or toiletry maybe. Looks most like sweat rash. Beautiful babies.

Thank you so much everyone, i have never worried so much since becoming a mummy! Does it get any easier as they get older? 🙈

@TwinMummaX nope afraid not......😂🙈your worries just change to different things. Like now I have a toddler and worry about him yeeting himself of everything and doing some serious damage🙈😂

Milkand2sugarsplease · 05/08/2023 23:30

Afraid not lovely, it just morphs into different worries...

I've done the newborn questioning, the toddler recklessness, the primary school "will they settle ok and make friends".

Now we're on to increased independence as a tween and applying for secondary schools and all that that will bring...

Then it'll be girlfriends, out with mates, starting to drink, first jobs, holidays without us..... it's the long haul..... strap yourself in....

Definitely heat rash, my one gets this all the time

TwinMummaX · 13/08/2023 12:38

Any tips on how to get rid of it? Ive tried keeping him cool, keeping it dry and letting air get too it, bathing it with cool water, no soaps. Its still there

You can’t get rid of them. Just check that they aren’t “fecky” and he’ll grow out of them. I had B/G twins too, and they both developed eczema by about the 3 wk mark, so I don’t think it’s sinister. They’re not from food or anything you eat. They’re because their own hormones are changing and they are adapting to life on land after being aquatic creatures for their development in utero.
