Baby suddenly wakes up multiple times a night. Sleep regression?

Hi ladies, I just wanted to ask. I was so lucky that my second son slept through the night since about when he was 1 month. He could sleep straight from like 8.30pm-7am. He is 4 months old
now and nearly 2 weeks ago he started waking up multiple times a night for feeding. (I’m breastfeeding). I believe it is a sleep regression, but would love to hear your opinions and also how long did it last with you babies and did they go back to their old routine?
I know that babies at this age can wake up during the night(my first son was like this) but I already got so used to him sleeping all night so it’s hard for me now. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you 😊

Yes it's the 4 month sleep regression and yes, I think it's harder because you've been expecting him to sleep.

It will get better and it is totally normal, not something you need to fix.

Hope that it doesn't last too long for you Wink

Thank you 😊 hopefully It gets better soon. 🙏🏻

Oh yes the dreaded 4 month sleep regression. Often babies best sleep is around 2-4 months old. Lures you into believing you've birthed a good sleeper... Then bam. 4 months 😭😂

Mine went back after around 6 weeks but everytime a tooth, new skill, illness, growth spurt appears he doesn't sleep well. He always eventually goes back to sleeping through though without me doing anything. 4 months definitely went on the longest. I think 7-8 months was actually worse but didn't last as long.

@F1nit0 6 weeks? Oh noo 😀. Every night I pray and I’m so positive that he’ll be sleeping through the night again but then he wakes up again and again and again and also my 3 years old wakes me up a few times too. Not sure if there is 3 years old sleep regression too or what’s happening 😀😀

Are they in the same room or could DC1 be cold? I was waking a bit more than usual then reaslies it's bloody freezing for Summer, put in warmer PJs and now I'm sleeping again Wink

@SiouxsieSiouxStiletto no the 4 months old is in the same room as me. That’s what I was thinking actually, because it’s quite cold for summer. But we actually turned the heating on and it was about 20,5 in the bedroom so I turned it off because then I thought that maybe he’s too hot. So it’s 19 degrees in there now. But when I touched him he felt nice warm temperature not too hot or not cold. So I don’t know. But every time I take him out of bed for feeding at night he’s
swallowing so fast and seems so hungry so I was thinking it might be a growth spurt also but it’s been 2 weeks now.

@SiouxsieSiouxStiletto Oh sorry you meant DC1 😀. He is in his own room and I feel I’ve tried everything. I’ve made the room hotter, colder, used white noise , bought gro clock, blackout curtains but he still wakes up. Some days are ok , some days he wakes up at night and some days he wakes up like really early (4:30am) or so. And I don’t know why. I even tried to move his bedtime to later but it was even worse.

The 4 year old is probably talking in more calories at night because they're busier in the day. Was the link I posted earlier of any use?

For the 3 year old you could try the No Cry Sleep Solution for Toddlers & Preschoolers. If I remember rightly it has a section on early waking Wink

@SiouxsieSiouxStiletto thank you very much. I will have a look at both links. 😊
