i use either fleece totsbots wrap or disana wool wrap with either a terry with lots of boosters!or a totsbots nappy with 1 booster pad and a microfibre cloth.different things suit different babies so im sure youll get loads of suggestions i think try a few before you spend a lot-what suits my ds might not suit yours.we spent ages piddling round trying to get it right!

YouKnowNothingOfTheCrunch · 27/02/2008 13:41

I use bamboozles - they're made with a mix of bamboo and cotton and are much more absorbant than cotton alone. But if your little 'un is a big 'un (IYSWIM) then I'm not sure their sizes are big enough. Have a look at this it has lots of advice and trial packs etc.

Washersaurus · 27/02/2008 13:42

I use tots bots fleece wraps, tots bots unbleached cotton nappies and upto 3 microfibre boosters each (my DS' are heavy wetters), sometimes I use a prefold nappy as a nighttime booster too. It is all a case of experimentation I think.

For one boy I use: 1 tots bots nappy with fleece liner and 1 tots bots/stacinator fleece wrap. I put some boosters (e.g.microfibre or prefold) in between the nappy and the wrap - tis easy peasy really.

debbie102 · 27/02/2008 13:55

After wearing disposables the bulky night nappy may be a bit of a shock for you both . Night nappies are just a question of getting the level of boosting right (DS1 currently needs 3 boosters and DS2 only needs 2).

You will probably need size 2 nappies, but I think you'd probably be OK buying the size 3 tots fleece wrap - I have used one in this size on my 6mth old recently (during a washing crisis) and with all the boosters it fitted OK.

Washersaurus · 27/02/2008 14:06

Actually saying that DS1 (now 2.7) has been in size 3 nappies for ages.

CarGirl · 27/02/2008 14:07

I had a really heavy wetter and never found a night time nappy that was up to the job tbh!

Washersaurus · 27/02/2008 14:10

I have struggled to get it right with DS1 as he wee's a lot, but I have definitely had more wet beds when I have put him in disposables overnight.

mistlethrush · 27/02/2008 14:13

For ds we used Totsbots Bamboozle size 2 (from about 8mo) at night with (to start with) a red fleece Totsbots wrap - replaced with Nature Babies red fleece wrap size larger with poppers - gave enough room to add a prefold as a booster between nappy and wrap - and had poppers so ds didn't undo before I could get him into PJs. VERY bulky (and rather comical to watch walking) but they're not going to be walking, so it doesn't matter! We used the flushable liners with no problems.

Ds was OK in size 2 TotsBots until 2.2 at which point he potty trained himself over a weekend. Hurrah for washables

oliviaelanasmum · 27/02/2008 14:14

I use fluffles overnight with the pop in booster and one extra booster, i use motherease airflow wraps at night or wool as they are the only ones that dont leak for me!
Debbie, if i use a fleece wrap i dont use a popper vest over the top as it compresses the fleece and makes it more likely to leak. HTH

debbie102 · 27/02/2008 14:15

getting there thanks to everyone for your help

Minkle huggle. Never had a problem with them. Look like teddies when hanging on the line, make the kids look really cute and they do the job.

oliviaelanasmum · 27/02/2008 14:18

I'd vote for huggles too, i have a pink large one but i dont think its suitable for a boy lol

debbie102 · 27/02/2008 14:23

dont care about the colour tbh if they work just wanna try them, are these what i need

in here

if i buy these what else do i need to get thanks

oliviaelanasmum · 27/02/2008 14:26

Hi debbie
You will still need the nappy and probably a booster or 2 and some liners .
If you are not bothered about the minky being pink i can do you a full set up. I can do 2 boosters a prefold to stuff it with, either fleece liners or disposable liners and you dont need a wrap.

debbie102 · 27/02/2008 14:27

ok sophie that would be great, how much x

OP posts:
debbie102 · 27/02/2008 14:29

and sophie do i still need the nappy wraps on that thread or not god im so thick xx

OP posts:
oliviaelanasmum · 27/02/2008 14:33

No you wont need a wrap with a minki as it is a fleece outer layer than a pu waterproof later with a pocket you stuff (i'll put it in for you to show you) and then fleece next to their bum.
If you are going to get other nappies ie totsbots they are 2parters and will need a wrap/
Will check weight to work out price when i get back from school if that is ok?

debbie102 · 27/02/2008 14:39

thats great sophie thanks very much xx

I use my minki huggle, 1 booster and a XL motherease airflow wrap.

BigBadMouse · 27/02/2008 16:24

Only thing that has worked for us since DD1 was 8 months has been Ellas House Bumhuggers. They are fully fleece lined so bottom does stay dry all night and they have a pocket you can stuff if needs be. They need a wrap - I use an airflow. They can take a while to dry (about the same a huggle) and I think it's best to buy second hand as they should be up to full absorbancy.

Debbie, if you can get hold of a bamboo terry sqaure to try inside your Minki pocket nappy I would recommend you give it a go - they are very quick drying, lovely and soft for night times and super-absorbant. A bit bulky though but no worse than a prefold which IMO is not quite as good at night - although I would say a prefold is good nonetheless .

SlugsNSnails · 27/02/2008 16:26

I use a terry square or booster, bamboo quick flip, and a wool wrap - fabulous!

Nappyzone · 27/02/2008 21:17

Im a ellas house bumhugger boosted with a microterry with a wool wrap or a minki or drybee fleece pocket stuffed with a ptit dessous or a prefold. We havent had a leak with this combo (now i have said that tonight he will leak!!)
