For the past 2/3 weeks my DS has been off solids. He’ll happily have a pouch and yoghurt. I’ve been cutting berries and cheese into tiny pieces and hand feeding him but he’s just not interested in any other solids! Pesto pasta was his favourite, will now have a few bites and be done. Won’t eat his brothers biscuits which he loves. Won’t even touch chips!

He’s got 2 bottom teeth that have now cut so I’m not sure what else it could be? Is it just a phase? And do I keep offering pouches since it’s the only thing he’ll have and I don’t want him to lose weight he’s already so thin! I mean realistically I haven’t met an adult who lives off pouches but I’m just worried he’s not getting what he needs to develop properly .

It's a phase. Keep offering food, but no pressure to eat (I know easier said than done!)

This phase can last a few days up to about 18 years 😁

My first question would usually be how much milk is he having and which type?

Have you checked to see if he's got any other teeth coming through too?

@SiouxsieSiouxStiletto he only has two bottles- one at naptime and one at bedtime. I’m not sure about the teeth tbh. His whole mouth looks swollen but his bottom gums were swollen for WEEKS until they finally cut through. We’d stopped pouches completely and now it’s all he’ll have! Feels like such a step backwards!

If it were me, I'd drop the first bottle and just go with the last one. It might take him a little while to adjust but it should help to increase his appetite. Right now he doesn't really need to eat lunch or dinner as he knows he's getting a bottle afterwards, if that makes sense?

If he's on follow on formula or growing up milk i'd swap those and switch to full fat cows milk as the extra iron added to those formulas can inhibit appetite.
