Do your kids like after school clubs and get excited about going?

My DD has done beavers, cubs, kick boxing and swimming in past. Apart from swimming, she is luke warm about going to any after school clubs although does seem to enjoy when she's there. If she stays home she goes on xbox with mates. draws or watches tv. I don't know if I should keep encouraging her to do these clubs - which is quite honestly hard work at times or, just give up and let her relax and do what she wants after school.

I think the transition to an after school club can be difficult, it's only normal to want to relax a bit after school. I'm a fan of clubs though because they build skills that you won't get in school, and mix with a wider range of children.

Mine enjoys her after school clubs, but I think she is young enough that she accepts it as something to do and she's never tried to get out of it (we have to book them all for a term, so it would be money wasted if she refused to go). I try to make it as comfortable for her as I can (a couple of clubs are a bit of a journey away, I don't drive but get a taxi rather than a long walk from the bus stop, and pack a spare phone with cartoons to watch and snacks on the way). I think of they're resisting, then maybe accept that particular club isn't for them, but try to find something that they'd like better - maybe an art club?
