Hi ladies - want to know if I'm just worrying unnecessarily here.

My son (who has just turned four) has recently had grommets, which have worked wonders for him in terms of clarity of speech and confidence.

He speaks in sentences of five words and more, is understood by both us and others most of the time, and you can have a good back and forth conversation with him, which is fantastic. His social skills and confidence with other children is also steadily improving.

However- I have noticed that he does still speak gibberish sometimes. He likes to make up words for fun (such as 'gow wow' and 'tiyay'.), and occasionally will speak in his own little language, usually when he's nervous or excited.

He is definitely aware that these are 'nonsense words', so to speak, and I'm sure is just playing. But i just wanted to check if anybody has experienced anything similar?

in my experience with my children the amount of silly stuff they say gradually becomes less and less over time.I don't correct them i just encore nonsense and talk normally eventually they just follow suit.

It dose not mean i stop talking when they start making stuff up,i just go is that right or thats nice or they say gibberish house ,i say o that is a nice house or what are you doing with the house .I pretend i dont hear the gibberish and reply back like i am having a normal conversation
