Little boy clothes

Hi all,

Just had baby number 2 who is a little boy (number 1 is a girl)

I'm really struggling to find nice boy clothes that aren't dinosaurs, cars, tractors etc.

Does anybody have any hidden gems for buying boy clothes from?

I've always dressed our little girl in lots of colour and patterns but haven't found much for our little boy

Thanks

You're looking for clothes like the ones you have?

Just dress him in your daughter's old clothes. The gender police won't arrest you.

Unisex brands like frugi, polarn y pyret, little green etc are better at being gender neutral but £££. I've never dressed my son in actually dresses (wouldn't be that bothered if he wanted to) but other than that, anything goes.

Dd wears boys clothes too. But of mix and match is fine. She'll wear camo joggers and a summer dress over the top.

H&M was always good for neutrals and cute patterns.

Sainsburys and Asda usually have colourful clothes for both boys and girls.

Toby Tiger has really bright stuff that is gender neutral.

I used to like H&M too for pieces that were more colourful (marks and Spencer were not bad either)

Fred and Noah have lovely, bright leggings

Petit bateau has lots of nice stripy clothes for boys. My little one lives in their stuff. I agree that boys clothes can be so boring with all the cars and dinosaurs etc. They have a big sale every season so you can buy ahead. Yes also to polarn o pyret

Vinted.

I get such a good range of 2nd hand clothes from there and was very proud to have been able to completely avoid dinosaurs in his last clothing size because like you, I was sick of them!

I also sell clothes back on Vinted once he's outgrown them.

Zara, H&M, Next and Asda are my favourites.

I have the same problem, 2 DDs then little boy. I've found that "girls" clothes don't look girly on him IYSWIM. Lots of multipacks of pastel coloured t shirts. Also, dungarees are in the same category as dresses for me, as in, one outfit in a single garment, just needs a t shirt or vest underneath. Supermarkets are good and always look in both girls and boys sections. Tu at sainsburys particularly

scandi brands are good (I get them
second hand on vinted or eBay). Little Bird is also good and Mini Club (which I think is from boots).

For baby stuff though I just dressed DS in leggings and tops from the girls’ sections. Lots more choice of (non pink) colours.

YourNameGoesHere · 16/07/2023 15:05

I agree with a previous poster that unless you only dressed your daughter in dresses then the clothes you have are perfectly acceptable for your son to wear.

I never struggled to find bright patterns or fun prints for my DS. There's thousands of bundles on fb marketplace, vinted or eBay in almost brand new condition considering how little they get worn at this age.

Wrennie24 · 16/07/2023 15:09

John Lewis usually have a good range.

Philosopherstone · 16/07/2023 15:11

H&M are amazing for neutral clothes for baby's and kids.

Hazelnuttella · 16/07/2023 15:12

Another vote for H&M for me, they have lots of nice clothes. I also don’t like every single item to be covered in dinosaurs and tractors.

Nutmeg at Morrisons is quite good too sometimes, if you have one near you.

neleh87 · 16/07/2023 15:20

Definitely H&m, also George (Asda)

Whatisityoucantface · 16/07/2023 19:12

Lindex - it’s my absolute fave for colour and patterns. Sign up to be a member as there’s often 20% off offers available. The sizes on the site are a bit annoying but fine once you get used to them. And plenty of their stuff on Vinted too.

avocadotofu · 16/07/2023 19:18

I like Boden, Polarn O Pyret and sometimes John Lewis.

Especially Sainsbury's

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 16/07/2023 19:25

JojoMamanBeBe are good for brights and stripes. £££ but they have a sale on.

takealettermsjones · 16/07/2023 20:05

Blade & Rose all the way!

shivawn · 16/07/2023 20:07

Next have beautiful baby clothes, they had a great sale last week.

AnotherCountryMummy · 16/07/2023 20:08

I've always found sainsburys good for plain tops and jumpers 🙂

MissBolybombom · 16/07/2023 20:12

Little Bird by Jools (Oliver) is largely unisex. Sold at Next.
