Taking Cara Babies - anyone purchased?

Has anyone purchased any of the TCB courses? My 4 month old wakes 2/3 times a night for a bottle and has short naps in the day! Me and my husband don’t know what to do anymore as we are just tired and miserable all the time! Lots of the reviews say how good it is and how their babies are now sleeping 10-12 hours a night! Not sure how genuine the reviews are. Any advice is much appreciated xxx

Your baby sounds like a normal 4 month old tbh. It's hard, but it's not forever and she'll start sleeping for longer at night before too long

4 month sleep regression.. it's brutal. My daughter was waking every 30/ 45 mins at one point.. it got better and then a couple of months later she started sleeping through.... wasn't every 30 mins for months but felt like it!
19 months old now and still a great sleeper.

I contacted a couple of sleep consultants at 4 months and a lot wouldn't help as it's the regression and will get better xx

I would love to say it’s sleep regression but he has been like this since day 1! Starting to wonder if we will ever get a full night sleep again 😩! We will just keep powering through and hope once he is a little bigger he will sleep longer! Thanks xxx

I know I know, it’s just tough not to compare to friends babies too! All people talk about is how well their babies sleep etc and it makes me feel like we are doing something wrong! 4 months it’s still very young, we are just knackered! Hahaha xx

I have a nearly 4 month old and I’m up 2/3 times to feed in a night. My first didn’t sleep through til she was 11 months. When their tummies are bigger and eating solids the feeds will drop. A hungry baby won’t sleep, and their tummies are still tiny at 4 months.
Its tough, but you will sleep again! Oh their meantime, coffee and cake during the day to get through.
Worth trying to dream feed baby if not already, might help drop down to 1/2 feeds overnight!

In the nicest possible way, your expectations of this age are way way off. 2-3 wake ups would be an amazing night for many if not most parents with a baby this age. If you share the feeds that's often just one a night each, or alternate the nights. That's what we did with my bottle fed baby, and it was great. My breastfed baby was average at first (maybe 4 feeds a night) but from 6-18m was up hourly. She still has sleep issues at 4.

Many aren't sleeping through until well into toddlerhood. Some beyond that. Sleep training may help, but that's not for everyone. I read somewhere it either takes tears or time. I think that's often true.

Sleep with kids is a marathon and not a sprint, and it goes up and down. Your body eventually gets used to having less sleep, and whilst that doesn't make it easy, it helps.

Thank you all for your messages! Good to know that it’s not just my baby, I’m a FTM so when you’re in the early baby funk it’s hard to realise that it’s all normal!! Im sure when he is ready he will sleep through, if just nice to hear it and feel reassured from others! Xxx

Firstly - as PP have said, this sounds completely normal for a four month old baby.
secondly - despite knowing this I was struggling with tiredness by four months. I read lots of internet articles and found taking cara babies one of the best BUT I only used the free stuff! Perhaps there is more useful stuff in the purchased courses but I found there was plenty useful information for free
I also found whattoexpect and thebump helpful
Personally I was wary that the purchased courses were just taking advantage of desperate sleep deprived parents.

Lyndsey hookway on IG is fantastic for normalising baby/infant sleep and has helped me loads with my 6 month old (who I wish only woke 2-3 times a night!).

It sounds really normal but that doesn't mean it's not hard xx

Hatscats · 12/07/2023 21:53

4 month olds still need night feeds. Waking in the night is a protective thing so they don’t die of SIDS! Deep sleep for babies isn’t a good thing.
Short naps are normal, use a sling or buggy or contact nap.
Most sleep training is just a version of the “Ferber method” which you can find on the internet for free, assume thats what it entails but not into leaving babies to cry even if it’s a few minutes at a time.

Hi OP.Like @user19888891 I used the free stuff from taking Cara babies and found it helpful. My DC had very very short naps and with TCB advice I managed to make them longer. I can't remember how now but it was useful and it definitely did not involve tears!

FirstTimeMumStanley · 13/07/2023 03:24

Thank you so much for those recommendations I will def look into it! That’s the thing the courses are soooo expensive too I don’t want to waste money! Xx

TCB is basically Ferber method repackaged. Suggest you use free resources online/on social from her and check out respectful sleep training fb group of you do want to sleep train. No need to pay hundreds for info you can get for free!!

jessnoah · 13/07/2023 22:35

2-3 times sounds like a dream! My 20 months old still wakes more haha

Tiredmama94 · 25/11/2023 15:58

So has anyone here actually purchased the course and implemented it? Going to start trying it myself similar to OP and looking for some reviews or advice thanks
