Can 4 month sleep regression happen at 3 months?

My DD is 3 months and her sleep has become disrupted during the night. She goes to sleep ok but then will wake up throughout the night tossing and turning, pushing her face down into the mattress and kicking her legs out. I will get up and down multiple times putting her dummy back in and she will go back off to sleep but then will be doing the same thing again not long afterwards. It usually ends up with her in our bed just so I can get some sleep cos she goes straight off and stays asleep until the morning. This doesn't happen every night but it probably happens 5 out of 7 days of the week.

Just wondering if anyone else experienced this at 3 months?

Although there are "common" ages, sleep regressions can happen at any age IME.

The thrashing and kicking sounds like it could be pain/discomfort, could she be teething? Any issues with constipation/wind?

It unfortunately happens whenever the baby decides it happens. You think you e got it sorted and something else chucks a spanner in the works.

I've wondered if she could be teething cos she's always chewing her hands and dribbles a lot but doesn't show any signs of pain in the day time like crying or anything. I also thought it would be too early for teething!
I don't think she has any constipation or wind, her poos are normal and she's going everyday. She doesn't appear to struggle when she poos either.

My DD definitely started her 4 month regression at just over 3 months, I remember because the first night was just after a relatives birthday dinner out and the first night I thought it was a one off because of the routine change. A few weeks later I realised it was classic 4 month regression!
