Screen time/baby cinema?

I’m taking my four-month-old daughter to baby cinema (Barbie!) soon. I’m aware the point of the screenings are generally adult films in more baby-friendly settings (lower volume, brighter lights) but what do you do with your babies at baby cinema?? I try to be fairly careful with screen time but she’s becoming more aware of (and interested in) screens, and she’s also getting more challenging to entertain out of a pram. Me and my NCT friends have back-row seats to the screening (prams are kept at the front) and I guess my question is… how do you guys entertain your babies at baby cinema? Let them watch a bit but try and occupy them with other things mostly? Scratch it up to an occasional thing and let them watch as much as they want? Classic over-thinker here so keen to hear all your thoughts!

I went with my little girl when she was about 10 months and planned it for nap time. What I would say (and hopefully this was just a 1 off as it is supposed to be quieter) but the volume was just as loud as usual so was even making me jump a bit (was guardians of the galaxy so quite an action-y film).
others who had crawling age babies were just letting them roam around :)

… and one movie worth of screen time really won’t be that but a deal, if you can’t get them to nap, just let them watch it so you can watch in peace too 😆

At 4 months, I probably would have done my best to keep my baby awake then breastfed them to sleep as it started, then they would have slept through the film - at that age they needed to.nap every 2-2.5 hours. If they had any awareness of the screen they wouldn't have watched for more than a couple of minutes.

When I attended those screenings mums with fractious babies would walk them up and down the aisle, no one minded!

Baby cinema has been my fave part of mat leave both times!!

At that age both of mine would have napped for some of it, on top of me. They both would have had a milk feed (eldest was bottle fed by then, youngest still mix fed). If they were awake I'd just hold them and let them watch the screen, they'd get bored eventually so then I'd always pack some toys for them to hold, chew etc. I'd talk to them, tickle them, jiggle them about if needed etc, whatever.

It's much easier when theyre little and still nap a lot and aren't mobile. Enjoy!

I only took mine when they were newborn and they just slept, but people expect disruption from babies in these screenings. It never occurred to me to try to shield the screen or anything, but mine slept or fed all the way through and I stopped going when they got to the stage where they were awake more and needed more attention!

My baby has been to normal cinema 4/5times. Took her in the sling and She slept/fed throughout until about 11months and that's when I stopped taking her. The few times I went to baby cinema with my first some mums put blankets out on the floor and had some baby toys on them for the babies.
