baby eczema , bath products?

My 5 month old has mild eczema confirmed by the GP (chest and back of thighs), she told me not to use Johnson products. I had been using their bath and moisturiser on my baby.

She recommended i use child's farm or Aveeno , has anyone experienced eczema improvement after changing products?

We use aveeno. It doesn't make it better, but doesn't seem to irritate it as much as others.

Epaderm is good to put in the bath to soothe skin. Otherwise just minimise products as much as possible - plain water and and gentle sponge gets most things off!

Hey OP :) not to worry, you just need to find something that works for you and baby. I switched from regular Childs Farms to Aveeno Dermexa (lotion, thicker night cream and bath wash) and I've stuck with using it since. LO had/ has very mild eczema and it seems to be helping Bear

Aveeno baby bath emollient with oats - don’t apply it directly to the skin - just dilute a bit in the bath water and gently wash baby with a flannel.

Aveeno lotions are good too, we use the lavender one.

Aveeno, or even no product at all, just water and gentle cloth.

Also are you bathing everyday? Best to do every other day for eczema to prevent skin drying out. (Lifelong eczema sufferer myself)

We bathe him in his eczema cream that the doctor prescribed (as a soap) and then put some more on after the bath. Same as above - we can’t bathe him everyday because it dries out his skin.

The best thing to do is to reduce baths right down. My DD has eczema and she now only gets a bath about 3 times a week because any more than that really aggravates her skin.

Also, I know this isn’t your question, but my sons eczema came at five 1/2 months when we started weaning. It turns out he’s allergic to eggs. It’s a thought in case you just started weaning, his wasn’t mild though.

You can get moisturisers that you can use as a wash in the bath. We use Aproderm or Dermol 500 and both have been good for my boys eczema

We were recommended, and used, dove products. When she got a bit older we started using certraben in the bath

I don’t think you need to use anything just a flannel and water. And reduce baths to few a week

I used this when my son was little, worked really well.
