Feeling guilty about staying in

Hello,

I'm not sure what I want to get out of this thread.

Yesterday me and my 16 month old stayed inside because we'd been out pretty much everyday since. Today, i'm not feeling too good so we are staying in again, however, I am now overcome with so much guilt!!

I know these days can't be helped, but I feel really guilty at keeping my toddler inside another day. I guess i'm just wanting some reassurance that it isn't such a bad thing.

Does anybody else feel guilty not being outside all the time with their toddler?

I used to, but actually having downtime is just as important as doing stuff. They’ll learn to play and occupy themselves with their toys, books etc. Much easier when they are older!

I must say, I always try and get out as I find it so much harder trying to entertain them at home at that age - even a walk around the block. Have you got a friend or family who can take them for an hour whilst you are unwell?

A couple of days won’t do any harm, we all need a couple of days of down time (well as much down time as you can get with a toddler). Once you’re feeling better there will be plenty of opportunity to go outside and do things, we’ve got the whole summer ahead of us

I usually take my toddler out twice a day but when I was packing to move house I think I kept her inside for like 2 weeks. She didn't mind and no I didn't feel guilty.

Hi @blahblahx omg no pls don't feel guilty xx
Me and my 9 month old spend a couple of days at home, it's really refreshing, not running around trying to get out the door, just chilling out is so nice for the both of us 😁

Getting outside is great for YOU. It means that your toddler has fun without making a mess! But there are so many things they can enjoy at home, especially if you don't do it all that often. A couple of days at home is fine.
