Baby Rolling in Sleep Waking and Tears

My DS started rolling in his sleep onto his front in his sleep and when he rolls he wakes himself up and gets upset. This has been happening for 2 months now. But it’s escalated with him rolling over with much more frequency and a lot of more tears. He is now able to roll both ways so could sleep in his front but he can’t seem to settle that way but doesn’t roll back onto his back or side either. Any tips/advice would be very welcome. I’m getting pretty exhausted 😴

Hi! Sorry I don't have any good advice, only that I'm having a very similar problem. My baby (7 months) has started rolling onto her tummy every time I lay her down. Then she starts pushing up onto all fours and wakes herself up. She's not crying, she's quite happy crawling around in the cot lol, but it means neither of us are sleeping! (I have her right cot right next to me). The only solution I've found is to bring her into our bed and cuddle her while we both sleep - I know this is not safe sleep and I don't want her getting into the habit of sleeping like this! Did yours grow out of the problem?

If you don’t want your baby to get used to coming into your bed, don’t keep bringing baby into your bed!!
Perhaps at 7 months it’s time to introduce sleeping in a cot in a different room. But you may have to go and settle baby during the night if needed.

@Katherine493 oh gosh I’ve been there. Good she’s happy though! My little one did grow out of it. We used a Purflo for a while to stop him rolling so much and that did help (depending on the night)

we did a lot of bed sharing too as I just needed rest. Do you know the lullaby trust? They have good information on bed sharing safely. Good news my little one now sleeps on his front (he rolls over and gets comfy) and is his preferred sleeping position. I hope the phase doesn’t last too long x

We only have one room so that's not an option for us!

I remember going through this stage with my son. We did loads of tummy time during the day to practice rolling back on to his back and just rode it out. After a couple weeks he was happy sleeping on his stomach or his back and could effortlessly roll whatever way he wanted without crying for help.
