What multivitamin for 1 year old?

I haven't been giving my baby a multivitamin because he used to eat so well so I never had any reason to be concerned (although I know it is recommended)

He has just turned 1 and is suddenly a lot more fussy! And I'm just concerned that maybe be should really be having one.

If I'm going to give one thougg I want to know its a good one, offering the recommended amounts of the necessary vitamins and isn't just full of sugar.

Any suggestions?!

Honestly, DD's pediatrician mentioned it, I asked whether it mattered which one and she said they're basically all the same.

If you're concerned about sugar content Abidec I think doesn't have malt extract in, which a lot of them do. We did find there always seemed to be shortages of it though.

There aren’t really that many on the market for babies/young toddlers, when I looked into it. Abidec, Wellbaby and the NHS ones are most widely available.

I give mine Abidec when I change her nappy first thing in the morning. She seems to like the taste & opens her mouth for the syringe.

We use the NHS ones. You can get them in superdrug. I just put 5 drops on a spoon and toddler happily takes them. I guess you could put in something if not.
We bought abidec once, it smelt absolutely vile and my son wouldn't take it.

Abidec smells and tastes vile but my toddler takes it neat from a syringe just fine.

I prefer it as it's one that doesn't need diluting in food - the issue there is that if your kid doesn't clear the bowl (of porridge or whatever it's diluted in) they're not getting the full dose.

+1 for abidec, our toddler says it's much nicer than wellbaby. Boots doesn't do it but the supermarket does.

We use the WellBaby one for our 1yo, you mix into milk or water. He wouldn't take Abidec willingly, he was on that initially as a small baby but then he started to refuse it and he got big enough for WellBaby so we swapped. But the problem is he rarely drinks all his milk so isn't getting a full dose. But he is a pretty good eater and seems to be growing ok so no concerns. We used WellBaby for my daughter til she was over 3 but she always drank all her milk before bed.

We have the boots one and mix it into his porridge - much easier than trying to get them to have a spoon or syringe.

Thanks everyone ☺️ we have decided to try the wellbaby one first as it has iron in it.

Weve also gone with the syrup over drops because it has a lot more of everything in it so even if he doesnt get the full dose, hopefully i wont worry too much.

Nows to see if he'llactually take it though! Hopefully it doesn't put him off his water

We use the NHS one and it's such a massive pain getting the drops to actually fall out! Usually 4 drops come really really slowly then 2-3 all in one go. I'd like to try a syringe one
