So my partner is now staying at home and I have gone back to work. My partner used to make out that when his a stay at home everything will be organised and meals will be prepped. I’ve now gone back to work and my 1 year old loved toast and eggs for breakfast with some fruit. My partner is giving him a banana and blueberries for breakfast saying he doesn’t want him to eat too much carbs or fried food. Or a cheese sandwich for breakfast whereas my little one loved his hot breakfast. Today it was just bananas and blueberries. And then I fed him a rice pudding fruit pouch.

Maybe print off some meal planning ideas for a 1 year old? Is he planning on your dc having food issues in the future? Sounds lazy or bonkers...
Which is it?

Not it is not OK.

Read the NHS guidance on child nutrition. Children need a varied diet, and eggs are a good source of protein and fat. They need carbohydrates as they are growing and need the energy. Bananas, blueberries and a rice pudding pouch is a lot of sugar and not much of any nutritional value.

Toddlers have different nutritional needs to adults and low carb is completely inappropriate. Is he being lazy or is he clueless? I’m all for a lazy cold breakfast- weetabix and a banana, toast and yoghurt, bread and cheese on occasion also fine so long as it’s properly filling.

Feeding a child doesn't mean imposing your own adult food fancies onto them. Get him to do some reading.
