Just wondering if anyone would have an idea what my my dd (4yrs) could possible have. She woke up yesterday and vomited 3 times in the morning. Has not vomited since. Had a temperature of 38 last night, which was easily managed with calpol. Has not needed calpol since. She's come out in a rash today a light rash over her chest and back and a few blister like spots on her back, chest, neck, face and behind ears. She she eating and drinking normally, not scratching, appears fine in herself. I'll take her to the pharmacist tomorrow but wondering what it could be? Tia

Blister like spots sounds like it could be chickenpox to me. I'd probably phone 111 and ask for an out of hours appointment rather than take her to a pharmacy if she might be contagious. Out of hours can come and get you from the car park and make sure you don't come in contact with other patients.

Sounds like chicken pox. Can you take a photo of the rash? Even if you dont want to post it here, you could arrange to send it to the Drs in the morning rather than taking a potentially contagious child out and about.

I wondered if it could be chicken pox, she's not itchy in the slightest with the vomiting I didn't think it's typically linked with chicken pox, although could be completely separate issue. I only thought pharmacist, I know a friend phoned ahead and pharmacist agreed to look at the rash and confirmed chicken pox. I'll give the gp a ring in the morning. Thank you both

Neither of mine were itchy with chicken pox. Before you said blisters I was thinking prickly heat which my kids have had alongside vomiting when they were little and it was very hot. Are they fluid filled type blisters or just little raised bumps?

Fifi20000 · 25/06/2023 16:50

They look more like raised bumps.

Sounds like chicken pox to me, I suppose you'll know in a day or two if the spots turn to blisters!
