My 4 month is so unsettled all the time any ideas on what I can do?

I've got a swing Loves it it's my go to for day time naps but obvs can't be used at night it seems to be he's just all out of sorts recently and I don't know why. He's feeding fine pooing and peeing fine his day time naps have been off tho but he's so crabby and he was never like this before. And it's making me feel like I'm doing something wrong.

Sounds like the 4 month regression!
couple things to try -
contact, cuddles, wear a sling
get plenty of fresh air, get out the house and allow baby to see trees etc.
maybe try and find a toy baby loves
does baby like bath time?
singing, reading, lots of interaction.

month 4 is notoriously the hardest. You’ll get through it, just do what you’re doing it’ll pass.
HOWEVER if something doesn’t feel right to you (mother’s intuition) call your HV or doctor for a check up?

Don't worry it doesnt stop there my baby is 12 months old and STILL has these episodes but I feel like with my baby it's separation anxiety it's draining to say the least but you'll get through it just offer lots of cuddles believe me I've had to strap my baby in his pram and walk round the block to get him to sleep and then carry him to his cot the things you've gotta do lol just persevere you'll get through it But don't forget your baby's hitting the age of a growth spurt of could be going through something developmentally either way it's completely normal for a baby to be this way there only way of communicating to you is crying and your not doing anything wrong xoxox

Could be the start of teething? Whether or not, I’d second getting out and about and have confidence that you’re doing fine if feeding and nappies are fine.

He should be sleeping flat though - not in the swing.

If you’re worried, see GP or HV.

Baby shouldn’t be sleeping in a swing - it’s very dangerous. They can silently suffocate even while you’re watching them and you wouldn’t know.

Surly it's no worse than sleeping in a car seat tho? If your going on longish journey?

His naps are like 30 minutes long max I just presumed it's the same as If he was in the car xxx

Car seats aren’t really safe to sleep in either for the same reason, though it’s often unavoidable.

Putting baby in a swing to sleep is avoidable. They can easily suffocate in a swing while you’re watching them.

That aside, naps should be longer than 30 minutes so you should be looking to extend this and use a safe appropriate sleep space.

Hush, 30 min naps at 4 months are completely normal. Sometimes they can be extended but the OP is doing nothing wrong if they’re all 30 mins.

OP mine started getting bored at 4-5 months! Do you have enough stimulation for them, little toys/getting out and about to see Different things?

Agree with a pp, have a look at the 4 month sleep regression. Agree as well that 30 min naps are normal. I do a lot of contact naps to get them longer than 30 mins and personally wouldn't use the swing like others have mentioned.
