6 month old fighting naps

HELP!

My baby has just turned 6 months and has all of a sudden started fighting naps in the day...nothing works, I've tried going out in the pram (she likes movement), in the car, sleeping on me, rocking, dark room, White noise... she is so tired clearly but just won't sleep and continues to scream..

Nighttime is a different story and sleeps from 6.30pm- 5am ish fine.

Any advice? Thank you!

amazin that she sleeps through the night.

have you tried just having quiet time? Not trying to put her to sleep but just having that nap time as complete calm quiet time?

Thank you for your reply. Have tried quiet time but it's as if she knows I want her to nap and almost switches to not letting it be calm...! I'll give it another go though, thank you.

My DD went through a nightmare phase st that age. I ended up putting her in the sling and just waiting for her to fall asleep whilst I pottered about. Sometimes I would dance around with music on and that would work.
It was so stressful though and she woke loads at night aswell

Have you tried going for a walk but not laying down so she can see around and therefore isn't fighting sleep so much

Glad to know I'm not alone in this. She's not a great fan of the sling facing me anymore and prefers to face out but then is so stimulated when we do but will give it a go, anything is worth trying right now! Thank you

That's a good idea. Will try, thanks!

Have you played around with wake windows? Sounds like she could be over tired which is why she is so hard to get to nap.

I haven't really, no. She usually goes about 2 hours between naps. When there is a hint of her being tired ie rubbing eyes or yawning I try and get her to sleep but it is then that she starts getting grizzly...

She has just started rolling and we're just into weaning so I'm thinking it could be that she's learning so much at the moment?

Maybe try 1.5 hours and see if that helps.

My now 9 mo started being the same at 6 months. She was sleeping 9pm-8am at night but wouldn't nap during the day , she napped fine until then.
Unfortunately she hasn't become much better since and getting her to sleep at night has become a nightmare as well.
Luckily once she's asleep she'll stay asleep but it takes a while to get her there.
I hope it goes better for you.
