When will sleep improve

My baby is 15 months and his sleep is still the same as when he was a newborn (no exaggeration.)
People told me it would get better at 12 weeks, then 4 months, then 6 months and then 1. It never did and I have tried several things to help him learn how to self settle but none of them have worked.
I don’t want to do Cry it out or controlled crying.
I just want to know if anyone had a similar baby and when they got better.
Surely this won’t last forever? 🤣

DD sleep improved from around 3 years old. She’s a great sleeper now at 7. The first 3 years were hellish though

Ours was horrendous until 18 months and then we went cold turkey on the bottle and taught her how to self settle.

@Gymmum82 That’s great to know thank you! Did the night wakings slowly reduce to none or did things improve suddenly?

They just suddenly improved. She went from waking almost constantly to sleeping through.
I tried almost everything to make her stop waking. Stopped breastfeeding at around 1yr. Stopped bottles. Then stopped all milk. Nothing really made much if any difference. I guess she just grew out of it.

Is your baby still feeding (breast or bottle)? My baby started sleeping through about 3 weeks after we stopped breastfeeding due to medical issues - I didn’t want to stop but it had a brilliant side effect, to be fair!

BF stopped at 10 months. She started sleeping through at around 11 months. She’s now 13 months and it’s not guaranteed (teething, colds etc) but it’s a world away from where we were.
