Work days/childcare, WWYD?

Currently work 3 days/week, children at nursery 2 days and MIL's 1 day. Very fortunate work situation where I can pretty much be at work whichever hours I want as long's I do the hours.
Trying to decide what to do when kids go to school. Which of the below would you choose if you could?

A - Work 3 long days, leaving before children go to school and home after tea time. Rely on DH, MIL and my DM to get kids to school and pick them up for those 3 days but then have 2 days at home to myself while kids at school. Would likely mean the odd work phone call/e-mail in those 2 days.

B - Work 4 shorter days where I could drop children off at school on my way to work and pick them up on my way home. Not have to rely on anyone else for child care and likely wouldn't have to deal with any work issues on my 1 day at home during the week while kids are at school. I will be relying on MIL/DM for child care during school holidays anyway.

B. Don’t forget that there will be various school events and lots of sitting down reading or spellings with children in the early years.

B. You’ll need a day to recover / catch up after three long days where as with the short days you can do a bit each day.

If grandparents want to pick up, it will give you a day when you don’t have to rush and the opportunity to do something for yourself.

@Haneggsandchips this is so true, I actually feel a bit like this already and that's aiming for a 5pm nursery pick up never mind 3pm school finish. On days MIL has the kids DH drops them off in the morning and picks them up on his way home, makes such a difference at work, don't feel like I'm constantly watching the clock and stressing about what I still have to do. Although I'm hoping if i was in 4 days rather than 3 at least I'd be thinking I'm back tomorrow, I'll sort it then rather than worrying about it for 2 days.

B - less relying on everyone else - odd pick up is fine but that sounds ALOT for others to do
But just coz that wouldn't work for me doesn't mean it wouldn't for you

B.

Less dependent on people other than you and your husband, so fewer potential points of failure due to human error.

There's a lot to be said for being present at school pick up and drop off, too.

I’d do B, but I’d make DH do the morning school run so I could start work as early as possible.

Or B, but with one day a week school pick-up done by a grandparent (if they’re willing) to have 1 longer day at the office.
