Toilet Training Regression

Hi :)
My LG is 3 in August. She has been Toilet trained for 3 months now, took to it really well and easily. Just did it on her own really, asked to use toilet herself etc. We had a son in November last year so we didn't thuik she would want to so soon due to attention etc so we were pretty surprised when it just happened.

However, the last 3 weeks she has regressed. Started just at home, just wee. Then the odd number 2. And now started doing it in Nursery. I'm having to change knickers/clothes 6/7 times a day on average.

She has been completely dry overnight since before she potty trained, and still is. Never wets at night. Been to the Dr to check for infection and that was negative. Some days she does great and maybe only has 1/2 accidents but some days it's constant. Doesn't really matter if we are out, at home, busy or not.

Any suggestions? I've started going back to the timer on the alexa every 30min, ask her to try and use the toilet and if her knickers are dry she gets a sticker. However, I'm not sure if that's the correct route? She starts school in September (1/2) days and she has to be toilet trained by then. I know we have plenty of time but just want to make it as easy on her as possible.

Thanks :)

Can be common to start having accidents at Nursery. A child can get so engrossed in play and simply forget to go.
Even though children are prompted regularly some don’t like the proximity of other children or hand driers etc. I’d start by asking staff at Nursery especially her key person if they are aware of any triggers.

At home maybe every half hour is a lot for you and her to manage. I’d try books and online stories about using the toilet.
Maybe try a weekly chart start with 1 dry day a week for a reward at the end of the week and build up. Has to be achievable though.
Maybe keep home and Nursery separate in terms of rewards.

Out and about maybe pop pull ups over knickers then she still knows she’s wet but easier to manage for you. Could all be tied in with the baby.
Little fuss for accidents mega praise for dry. I’m sure you know that though.

Great you checked out the Dr but maybe try Health Visitor if it persists. Good luck.

If you’re only three months in then I wouldn’t worry. The process can be up and down and they throw all sorts of weird regressions at you. And just as one goes away they get funny about another aspect. But she obviously has the fundamentals down so just try and be consistent about wee and poo needing to be in the toilet/potty, remind her at key points to help her and ride it out. Rather than doing every 30 minutes like clockwork and her hearing a timer maybe try and find natural points like ‘before we have this snack let’s have a quick wee’ or ‘now we’re done with this puzzle let’s have a quick wee’ so it feels a more natural part of her day. But it’s far easier said that done I know. Potty training is my most hated aspect of parenting and I was often far from ideal in the way I handled it!

This happened to us too and oh my god it's been forever getting back on track. We've had multiple regressions to be honest. Hard work!
