Any tips please on how to easily manage this.. clothes and shoes please? Where do you store this stuff and what do you store it in? Any ways to make it easy to do it in size order? So it's all straightforward. Tia x

I bought big plastic boxes. When a box is full, I write the age/sizes on an A4 paper and put it inside the box facing outwards. Then box is put in the loft.

Store it in your suitcases (and just leave it in pile when you need them). Put the clothes in in layers. All one age group then a sheet of paper with yr1 or 0-6 months or whatever written on it.

Plastic boxes in the loft here , when they were babies it was one for each age range of clothing , now they are much bigger there is less to hand down and I chuck it all in one.

I have 4 boys so a lot of hand me downs! I have large labelled boxes (2-3y, 4-5yr etc) and I keep ones that we are going to need in the new few months in the garage on a set of shelves and the ones I won’t be needing for a while go out of the way in the loft!

I’ve heard a lot of advice not to bother keeping much clothing because the chance of having the same gender at the same time of year is small but thankfully I kept it all because 3 of my boys are all born in October 😅

I do the same as @7Worfs x

We have a wardrobe with spare hanging space and I put everything from one age into a plastic bag, label it, then hang it off a hanger. No loft!

Vacuum storage bags labelled with the age, stored in the loft.

It's been a life-saver as they grow so fast!

I have 3 girls, my older 2 were closer in age so it didn't feel overwhelming or stressful. There are 4 years between my 2nd and 3rd. Do you find it overwhelming managing all these clothes? Or do you just get on with it? I find it overwhelming managing 3 lots of wardrobes for them.. have you found the same? Or am I being daft! Lol. We have the space so that's not an issue. How do you manage and store there shoes? X

@Hello55 no it’s not just you! I do find it a bit overwhelming at times - there’s just so much to manage even though I try to be fairly minimal we still live in the UK with very different seasons so need lots of cold weather clothes/hot weather clothes/wedding outfits/coats,scarves,gloves etc!! I keep their shoes on shoe racks in the garage if they are decent enough to keep and I only let them have a pair of trainers, a pair of school shoes and a pair summer sandals so the shoes don’t get too overwhelming. The trainers are often wrecked so don’t get passed down! If you have an accessible loft I would definitely make use of it so you have less to manage downstairs. I’ve found the Minimal Mom on YouTube v helpful on these kinds of topics - she has 4 kids and i always feel inspired to make do with less!!

Vacuum packs! Once a size is finished with, it goes in a vacuum pack with a label on and then into the loft.

Thank you will check that out! Do you have small age gaps? I will definitely use the loft and get big storage boxes. Have you found since school age you have less clothes to manage? I guess that is the case if I think about it as at baby age there seemed to be a lot more! X

@Hello55 Yes definitely, however the clothes do get bigger and take up more space as they get older so it still feels like a lot! I do like school uniform though from that point of view (which they can also pass down!) Mine are 8,5,2,8 months and my baby is wearing some stuff that my eldest wore so it has saved us a fortune over the years.
