Baby neck and hot weather!

I have a chubby six month who looks down a lot when playing. We do do tummy time.

We were abroad a month ago and she got sore in her neck roles. I managed to resolve it when we got back the U.K. in the cooler weather with tummy time and Metanium.

However it’s back again with this hot weather in the U.K.!! Any tips on how to get rid of it whilst it’s hot? Really stressing as forecast is hot hot hot and my DC’s neck looks so sore :-(

I spoke to the HV who said it’s really common but wasn’t that helpful…!

I'm having the same thing happen with my 7 month old DS been like it for the past 3 weeks just try and keep it as dry as pos and if it looks sore put cream on and try putting a bib on little one does help a bit x

A little bit of Daktarin powder is really good for intertrigo (the rash that occurs when skin rubs against skin). I used to put a little dab in my LOs neck creases and it cleared it up much better than a cream which just made it wet and sore.

Sudocrem worked well for my daughter. I waited until she was sleeping and then covered her in it. Really dries the skin up.

Once their neck is better maybe try talcum powder to reduce friction, absorb moisture etc?

I wouldn't try it as seen loads in the paper about it causing cancer and stuff put me off not sure if it's true or not but wouldn't risk it myself

The evidence for talcum powder causing cancer is very poor. There are talc free alternatives that could be used though or even cornstarch can be used as an alternative.
