Going back to work part time

I had DD2 in February and DD1 is 18 months at nursery full time. I went back to work full time after having DD1 but now I am planning to go back to work part time and having the girls in nursery 3 days a week and have them at home with me 2 days a week to be able to spend more time with them. I am learning to drive and I live in a semi rural area. I was wondering if anyone with experience of being home with their children part time or full time could give me some advice on what to fill our days with, activities etc in both summer and winter months. We do have a back garden.

Thanks in advance!

I have worked 3 days a week since DD was 1. She is 3 now and expecting DC 2. On my days off we - went to baby /, toddler group, soft play with friends from that group, park, beach, visit grandparents, visit to duck pond to feed the ducks, play in the garden.

If it rains we bake cakes / cookies, do crafts (depending on theme e.g Halloween, Christmas etc). Tuff tray stuff with rice , various set ups. She also does watch some TV if I'm trying to do some cleaning or am totally exhausted. General playing with her toys, puzzles / books x

Parks, soft plays- with young children it’s all about physicality, burn off the energy. Groups, swimming etc

Stay & plays are great for when you've got two at different ages and stages. Library rhyme time was always a hit and then we'd pick up some new books after. Lots of park & playground for my eldest to burn off some energy. Sofa soft play with all the cushions was a good one for a wet day. I have a couple of boxes of craft stuff so I can always pull something out. Usually have things in for baking too.
