Baby's weight

Hi all,
Apologies for the probably really stupid question.
DD is almost 10 months old. She is having 2/3 meals a day (dependant upon her breakfast time), and still taking between 800-1000mls of formula, including waking in the night once for a feed.
I visited the health visitor earlier in the week to have her weighed and mentioned the still waking for a feed in the night (I don't mind her waking, was just checking it was normal still), and she basically said if she's hungry just feed her, which we obviously always have done.
In terms of weight, she's always been just the slightest bit below the 50th percentile since birth, and has just continued following this line. When she was weighed this week, she had dropped a tiny bit, but we think that's because she was poorly the week before and was refusing food. She's currently 18lb 1oz.
But I've been sat wondering whether having 2/3 meals a day + her formula she should be weighing more? I know that may not make sense, but I think my question is, is it normal for her to be continuing to follow this percentile with the amount of calories she's having, or should she be putting the weight on more?
I know this is a definite 'paranoid mum' post, but as we sadly lost our first child I question everything about DD's health. I guess I'm just worried we're doing something wrong! Thanks for your help xx

Sounds fine to me :)

You want her to be following her line rather than jumping or dropping centiles. A little dip can be normal if poorly/teething is affecting their appetite. I think it's only seen as a cause for concern if they drop over 2 centiles.
Try not to worry, sounds like you're doing great!

The percentiles are adjusted for age so if you have an baby who os following all of the usual developmental milestones and is continuing on the same percentile that is completely normal. As she learns to eat more she will gradually take less milk. And the percentiles are adjusted for this.

Thank you both so much for your replies 😊
I think I just went into a bit of a panic as I noticed her ribs when changing her nappy earlier and worried she was too thin despite her calorie intake.
June isn't a good month as it's the month our son passed, so anxieties are running high!
Thank you both again x

You should be able to see children’s ribs when they are naked. If you can’t then that’s when you need to review their diet.
