What parenting books do you find genuinely helpful?

For context I have a 2.5 year old.

The first question to ask is, what do you want your parenting style to be?

How to talk so little kids will listen. Genuinely gave us new perspective and many of the suggestions worked.

Well, I think that's what I'm hoping to find out really. I suppose my initial answer would be firm, fair, loving and understanding.

"How to talk so little kids will listen" is a brilliant book. I also like Janet Lansburys "elevating childcare" and "no bad kids".

agree with the how to talk books even though they're old. Also Good inside I like, as it's kind to imperfect parents, and calm parents happy kids is another worth reading.
If you have baggage you rather not pass on then The book you wish your parents had read is a good one.
And if you're at the end of your tether and want a quick fix you can check out old episodes of supernanny!
I don't think there's one specific good book, they all say roughly the same thing in different ways but if you read them all it will infuse into your thinking.

The Happiest Toddler on the Block. The Whole Brain Child (bit heavy on theory in places, but still very good).

Anything in particular you're looking to tackle?
