Hi all,

Not quite sure what the point of this post is but how does everyone manage the endless cycle of colds/bugs etc that come into the house?

I constantly find we're ill - like we're better for a couple weeks and the next bug comes in. My DS had a temp and runny nose etc on thursday and now lo and behold ive got a sore throat and runny nose. I always worry that work must think im making it up.

Anyone else in this boat? DS in 2.5 years - when does this constant cold etc get less and less?

It's hard when they're in school or nursery as there are so many bugs flying around :-( And so hard with a little one when you have so much close contact too.
Ventilation/air filtration can help, so first thing to do would be have a chat with the nursery and see if they can keep a good flow of air with windows open, especially with the weather being nice at the moment.
We got HEPA filters for home to reduce transmission in the house. DS is in secondary school now but if he was in nursery or primary I would have offered to buy one for his classroom too (parents shouldn't have to do this and not everyone could afford to of course but here we are).
We've also started using anti viral nasal sprays - appreciate that's probably not going to be tolerated for a little one, but the adults could use them - we use Boots Dual Defence (it is suitable from age 1+) or Viraleze (age 12+). And CPC mouthwash for adults too.
And when anyone has any symptoms in the house we wear FFP2 masks (appreciate a little one couldn't wear a mask, but adults could?). And we wear masks in shops, health settings etc to reduce the risk of us picking something up somewhere else.
I know it might not work as well when you have a little one but worth a try.
It's worked for us to stop household transmission of colds and flu. And once it worked for covid. The other time we all caught it :-(
Maybe also write to your MP and tell them the problems that so many infections flying around is causing you and for your employment too, we really need some policies in place for clean air in nurseries, schools and health settings generally to reduce all this.
Hope you both feel better soon Flowers
