Lindex are MASSIVE
next girl is small bit next unisex/boy was bigger…
H&M tights are MASSIVE, and shorts, - tops are average…
bit probably depend on baby!
john Lewis anyday jumper for my 1 year old looks like it should be for a 3/4 year old lol.
foudn the supermarket brand average for my baby but TU Sainsbury’s probably biggest.
morrisons smallest.

French brands Petit Bateau, Jacadi, Bonpoint etc run small. Boden are true to size. H&M come up large especially in the waist for trousers. John Lewis are all over the place.

we has petit bateau vests and they were quite long but very very slim!

My one year old has an H&M outfit, the top fits normal, the shorts are bug but have buttons, the tights would fit an5 year old lol. So we wear the outfit with some 3-6 month tights also from H&M (and they still have room lol)

Next and Jojo I find a tad on the small side. Tesco clothes fit my long chunky girl really well so would probably say they are on the larger side. Sainsbury’s always seem such an odd fit for me neither large nor small just inappropriately cut. M&S and Asda I find pretty on the nose for sizing. I don’t really shop anywhere else for baby clothes!

I personally find

Tesco - generally good fit and good sizing
H&M - runs large
Sainsburys - run small
Morrisons - good sizing
Primark - good until washed and then they shrink badly!
Next - larger side
Asda - good sizing slightly larger

Spottypineapple · 30/05/2023 17:19

I find H&M, Lindex, and Next run very large

John lewis a bit big but not too bad

Agree, french brands run small (DM lives in France and has bought lots of things for DD that have been too small!)

Tesco F&F and m&s about right

For reference my DD has tracked 50% all along her growth chart so about as average as you can get in terms of baby size!

Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 30/05/2023 19:45

I find Tesco and Morrisons are on the smaller side, with Next and Asda being on the bigger side but my little one is quite small for her age x

CoalCraft · 30/05/2023 21:00

JoJo - small
M&S - small in the baby sizes then big from 2 yrs
Next - medium to large
Sainsbury's - mostly medium but often proportionally a bit whacky
Tesco - mostly small with the odd huge thing

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 30/05/2023 21:10

I believe H&M bottoms are cut for cloth nappies.

Maybe but they’re also consistently massive even in the children’s sizes where nappies will be long gone.

AnotherJaffaCakePlease · 31/05/2023 19:33

Agree that H&M are huge. JoJo and Gap are small.

WombatBombat · 31/05/2023 19:35

Yep, H&M, John Lewis and Asda are huge.

TU and Primark probably about normal.

I find Next & M&S small - DS is a very tall but slim toddler though.

BeastOfBODMAS · 31/05/2023 19:46

Gap are quite slim fit but have really robust cuffs and waistbands so you can size up quite a bit and get extra wear out of things without legs and sleeves draping.

Namechange192727171 · 31/05/2023 20:12

Primark - small
Asda - Big
Tesco - small
H and M - Big
Next - small
