I'm posting here for some perspective and also to see if anyone had this with their DC.
My DC is 11 months in a week. She is currently not crawling, standing, lying to sitting or cruising. She seems like she is trying to crawl but has one leg tucked under and rocks furiously (she's done this for about a month), she then attempts to move and sort of "sploots" onto the ground. She can stand and hold furniture, but doesn't cruise when doing it and can't pull herself up, although, she does pull up when holding my hands. She's only just learned to roll and only does this at night for some reason where she will do a tour of her cot Grin.
Someone, who is a early years teacher, has mentioned that she may be "hyper mobile" as she always has pointed toes and seems very bendy.
She has sat unaided since 6 months and has good fine motor skills, however, is not currently pointing or waving. Shes started to get very grumpy and seemingly frustrated with her lack of mobility.
I know we should not compare our babies, but the others in NCT are all crawling/butt shuffling, some are climbing and one is even walking! I'm just worried something might be wrong. I have tried contact the HV but have had no reply yet, and have taken her to the gp about a couple of months ago regarding the not rolling, and they told me that she seems fine but to contact my HV if I'm still worried. I have spent lots of time encouraging her to move but she gets so upset and I feel guilty! Can anyone give any advice or share if they have had something similar?

Have you heard anything from your HV re your baby's 1 year check? If not then I would push them for this.

Some babies don't crawl, and it's good that she can stand holding on. From what you describe it could very well all be okay. Best thing to evaluate would be for any potential issues to be picked up at the 1 year assessment. There MAY be a problem, but I don't think it's time to worry just yet.

I could have written your post @fatpenguin10 - in fact I was just considering doing exactly that!

Had a nine month hv check here and he was definitely behind (in the black) for gross motor skills so they are planning to see him again.

good news yours is standing and holding on. Mind can’t do that and can only put one foot flat and is extremely wobbly.

sounds like yours is very close to crawling, is she going backwards yet? Mine can go backwards a bit and can crawl with his arms but his legs still need some work. My first went backwards just before she went forwards.

my DS was a slightly early baby so that might be the reason for the delay but also he may have had some trauma/damage in the womb so bricking it that he has a mild form of cerebral palsy.

really sympathise with the grumpy baby who wants to get moving!!!

Sounds very similar to my almost 11 month old. She also can't stand while holding furntiure yet and is very wobbly on her feet when we hold her up. We just had our health visitor checkup and they were not overly concerned even though she did score in the black for gross motor skills and a few other categories. They said there is nothing to be concerned about yet and we will get a follow up phone call in a few months so I'm trying not to worry for now.

The health visitor also thought we might see more rapid progress once she starts nursery as it might help seeing the other babies being mobile.

If she has good motor function I wouldn't be too worried at 11 months. How is her talking? My mum always delighted in telling people I talked very early but had no interest in walking until I was about 18 months. My younger brother was walking at 10 months but didn't speak until much later!

Try putting baby over your leg to play like this. It gives a little support and helps with weight bearing too-I hope picture posts
