Nap time

DS who previously was a good napper has suddenly resisted them and is a struggle to get down. I'm not sure why, it's not his usual behavior. We are in the toddler phase, has anyone experienced similar.

How old is he? Is he dropping the nap?

Ca2022 · 29/05/2023 20:14

Both of my DC dropped their naps around 18 months. Why do you want the nap to continue? The nap may not last much longer.....

I have a just turned 3 year old and nearly 2 year old and they both still nap.
Ive added things in to make them a bit more excited about bed, stickers/posters of their favourite characters, a glo bug that plays music and has a soft light at the end for them to cuddle, a nice blanket - themed of course.

How long are you leaving before you put them down for a nap? I usually leave it 5/6 hours before attempting a nap from when they wake, a little less at bedtime depending on how they napped but they usually both have an hour long nap at least.

They also have a white noise machine and i make sure its dark in there c

Thank you for the advice, I guess its just a phase and maybe a little more patience is needed by me and more routine.

18 month sleep regression.

Be consistent: it could resolve itself in a few weeks
