Once they get to two-ish, how often do their feet need measuring?

Just had DSs done and they have grown a tiny amount - enough to get new shoes though (1/2 a size longer but one grade thinner (?!)), but we had gone aruond Christmas after about 8 weeks, and they hadn't grown. I always thought you had to go 6-8 weeks - does that change about 2 ish? Just not sure when to go next time. TIA x

I go when it seems hard to get their feet into their shoes. I do feel guilty sometimes though when we havent been for ages and they have gone up a size or 2!! I dont go as often as 6-8weeks, its just as and when we need to

I go when either:

a) I struggle to get their shoes on
b) I happen to be passing a shoe shop that doesn't have a queue for foot measuring
c) It crosses my mind that I haven't had them done for a while
d) grandma comes to visit with her chequebook

They don't. I judge by how their shoes are fitting.

with clarks / start rite shoes the thumb test at the front when you buy them should mean you should have 3 months growing room. So although they wil tell you every 6 -8 weeks for measuring usually about 10 weeks is OK.

impossible to say

ds1 still in the same shoes we got for him last june

have had his feet measured twice in the last 6 weeks just to be sure, but they haven't grown

They don't grow and you keep making sure that you can still feel a gap, then overnight you suddenly start having problems getting their shoes on, you take them to the shoe shop as a priority, the first time you can get there (ie 2 or 3 days) and you find that they need 2 sizes bigger

Have had shoes go for anything between 8 wks - 4 months - and the 8 wk ones jumped 2 sizes!!!
