Newborn slight tinge of blue around lips

I’ve heard this could be trapped wind - sometimes I notice this more after he’s eaten or sucked on a dummy. Is it normal or should I get him seen too?

I would get that looked at, OP, it could indicate a circulatory problem.

Have you got a sat checker ?

If you call 111 a nurse/medical person will call you back if there's a possible concern. They will advise you on the best course of action

I'd book a GP appointment and get him checked OP.

Agree especially if baby is a very new newborn BUT be careful how you phrase it. I rang the doctor's surgery when DS had this around 4 months. They wanted to know why I wanted an appointment, I told them he was going blue around his mouth and they stopped me and got a.doctor on the phone within about 20 seconds. I had to explain DS was fine, conscious, jabbering away but full of cold and occasionally getting a blue tinge to his lip. It was cyanosis I think, and they were not concerned.

My 8 month old (DS2) occasionally goes a greyish colour around his lips and has done since a newborn. I thought it was wind but it turns out he has a large hole in his heart that requires surgery and his oxygen levels dip frequently. I don’t mean to scare you but I would certainly get your baby checked by a medical professional just to be sure it’s nothing.
