Bedtime woes - 13 month old

My 13 month old currently needs 1 hour plus of feeding and comfort to get to sleep at night. We have had to push his bedtime later because it had been taking even longer.

Things do usually seem to be a little bit better if he only has 1 nap instead of 2,but often when i am trying for 1 nap, he will wake after a very short time and end up absolutely needing a second one as a result.

We cosleep, so i dont feel i can just close the door on him and leave him. Cosleeping has been great for us generally, and i would like to continue doing it if we can solve these awful bedtimes.... If not i think i will sadly feel o have to start putting him in the cot and leaving him.

He is breastfed, and if i try to stop feeding him before he is ready, even if he has been feeding for 40 mins, he screams and cries inconsolably. The only thing that seems to work is if i lie with him and bf him until he sleeps. But it takes a long, long time, and i am getting to a point where i am not sure i can carry on like this.

Please be kind in comments.

So after 3 kids all bf all co sleeping, I still have zero advice, 1 hour is pretty good in my books. My eldest was 2 hours on a regular night, more on a bad one. Best advice is. It what you want to hear, but that it will simply pass. Took to nearly 3/4 years for mine to sleep through the night, my 2.5 year old still wakes without fail. It'll just stop some day

Tbh if he is generally sleeping through at 13 months you are doing well. Maybe keep him downstairs a bit longer? It will pass but it does tie you down and is emotionally draining as no one else can put him to bed. How does your partner feel about it?
